Is an air fryer bigger or smaller than an oven?

Air fryers are usually smaller in volume than ovens, especially traditional countertop ovens. The design of air fryers emphasizes compactness and efficiency, with a compact structure that is suitable for environments with limited space in home kitchens. Most air fryers have a capacity of approximately 3 to 6 liters and are suitable for cooking small portions of food. Its volume is usually much smaller than an oven, which allows it to quickly heat up and cook evenly during cooking, making it particularly suitable for quickly processing small amounts of food, such as french fries, chicken wings, etc.
In contrast, ovens have much larger volumes, typically ranging from 20 liters to 60 liters, and can accommodate larger volumes of food such as whole chicken, large pizzas, or baked large quantities of food. Therefore, although air fryers can provide cooking effects similar to ovens, they are more commonly used for small batch, fast cooking tasks due to their small size, fast heating, and convenient operation. For situations that require baking large portions of food or higher cooking flexibility, an oven would be more suitable.
Overall, air fryers have a smaller volume, are easier to store, and are suitable for kitchens with limited space, but they have limitations in capacity and versatility compared to ovens. If you often need to bake large amounts of food or require a wider range of baking functions, an oven would be a more suitable choice.
